I have information on the SARGENT Family back to 1650, in Alderton,Grittleton, & Hullavington, Wiltshire.
1759 Thomas & Elizabeth [nee GRAY] SARGENT were the Grandparents of 1804 George SARGENT. All were born in Hullavington, Wilts.
From Parish Records, Bitton: 14 Oct 1798
Isaac son of Thomas & Elizabeth SARGENT [aged 5 years]
James son of Thomas & Elizabeth SARGENT [aged 2 1/2 years]
George SARGENT m. Sarah WEBB (b 7 Jan 1808 at Hanham; Baptised at Whitfield Tabernacle, Kingswood, Gloucestershire 17 July 1808). Although married in Bitton, he lived all of his married life in Bath, SOM. He was a Harness Maker.
His father, also George (b 1784), married a second time after his wife died, and lived in Hinton Charterhouse, Somerset. We wondered if 1804 George went to live with his Grandparents after his mother,Charlotte CHAPPELL died in 1817
My G/G/Parents, John & Betsy [nee RICE] SARGENT went to the USA in 1905 with 3 Sons,and their families.My G/parents, Frank & Ada [nee COX] SARGENT returned to the UK in 1908 and lived in South Wales
