Abstract
Thomas BARNES Senior of Upper Cully Hall in hamlet of Bitton Yeoman written 28th July 1749.
To Wife Ann enjoy all household goods and the one third part of all my real estates during the natural term of her life and after her decease between my son Thomas BARNES and Two daughters Mary and Grace and if either parties to die before enjoying the benefit to children of said children share and share alike.
To Daughter Mary £30.00.
To Grandson John BARNES and to the heirs of his body my two grounds called the New Leaze and the Ham but if he dies in minority, then the Grounds equally between all the other children of Thomas BARNES and to their heirs.
To Son Thomas BARNES £20.00 that he borrowed of me and had of his mother. All Plough Harness and all my wearing apparel both linen and woollen at the time of my deacease and at the decease of my wife. Also my furnace
To Son Thomas BARNES all my ground called Long Croft with all that my 3 acres and a half of ground lying in the tyning where the coal works are, adjoining the ground late of Mr William SEED deceased.
To Daughter Mary's son David my silver Candle Cup.
To Daughter Grace NEWMAN all that my five acres of land that do lye in three several grounds in the parish of Bitton for her life for her own sole use apart from her husband Thomas NEWMAN and after her decease for her children
Son Thomas BARNES to be sole Executor signed 28th July 1749
