This is the last will and testament of me Daniel PALMER the elder of the hamblet of Oldland in the Parish of Bitton in the County of Gloucester (Inn Keeper) being weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding thanks be given to the almightly god for the same. First my will is that I may be buried in a decent manner as my executor and trustees shall think proper.

I give and bequeath from and after the deceased or marriage of my wife Elizabeth PALMER unto John PALMER, and Daniel PALMER, my sons the rents and profits arising from a ground lying near to a ground of Mr John TIPPETTS of the Northside of the road in the hamblet of Oldland aforesaid and now in my ? containing about two acres and half together with all that house (late shills) with a tenement adjoining and two gardens one on each side the road in the hamblet aforesaid and my will is that my son John PALMER shall have that part of the house lying towards the west with the garden facing with the garden facing lying on the south side of the road and my son Daniel PALMER shall have that part of house lying towards the east with the garden lying behind the same.

But in case my son John PALMER or my son Daniel PALMER should happen to die without lawfull issue then I give the said ground the two tenements and two gardens before mentioned to survivor or survivors of either of my sons John PALMER, Daniel PALMER and William PALMER or their lawfull issue share and share alike.

I likewise give to my son in law Isaac GOFF one shilling in six months, after my decease. I give and bequeath to my son William PALMER after my decease half the profit, arising from the house and ground adjoining wherein I now dwell to be paid to him by my wife Elizabeth in which house my said wife continue to live and my son William PALMER shall give to his mother my wife Elizabeth PALMER ? of the same. I do order and direct my said wife and William my son to give to each of my other two sons John PALMER and Daniel PALMER one bed with bedding to each of them out of my household goods within one month of my decease.

All the rest and residue of my personal estate, goods, chattels of what sort ? and wheresoever I give and bequeath unto my said wife Elizabeth PALMER so long as that shall be and remain a widow and no longer, and I do hereby nominate and appoint my wife Elizabeth PALMER whole and sole executrix of this my last will and testament, but my will is that in case my son William PALMER should happen to die without lawfull issue then I give the part of him so dying to my other two sons John PALMER and Daniel PALMER or their lawfull issue share and share alike. And lastly to request and desire Mr John BATTHENS and Mr John TIPPETT Junior both of the hamblett of Oldland aforesaid trustees of this my will in witness where I have here unto set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of June in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight.
