I am researching my WILMOTT (and variants) ancestors of Bitton and surrounding areas in and before the 1600s. I do have complete info on my direct ancestors from today back to Charles born 1680s/1690s and would be happy to share what I've got with fellow researchers.

I am currently stuck at Thomas WILMOTT, a widower who remarried in Bitton in 1772 and I would like to find his first marriage and his baptism. There were WILMOTT families in the Bitton area in the period of his birth but no sign of a suitable Thomas has been found.

What I know of my WILLMOTT family so far comes from census returns. I would love to have any details relating to this family, in particular more information of John's parents, as yet unknown.
John WILMOTT (1811 Bitton, coal miner & haulier) married Mary MEAD (1812 Bitton) in 1835 at St Mary's and they lived in Cock Road. Their children were all born in Bitton: Emma (1835; my GG grandmother), William (1837), Ann (1839), Elizabeth (1841), Sarah Ann (1844), George (1846) and Thomas (1849).
