In the name of God Amen the 17th day of February in the fourth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord James the second by the grace of God King of Great Britain, France and Scotland defender of the faith etc. I Anne COSTER of Whitecleve in the Parish of Newland and in the County of Gloucester widow & relict of John COSTER gent deceased being weak in body but of sound mind and perfect memory thanks be to God doe make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following renouncing and revoking all former wills whatsoever. First I bequeath my soul to God that gave it and my body to Christian burial at the discretion and chargesof my executor herein after named and as to my temporal estate real and personal. I dispose there of as followeth (vizt.) Imprimis

I give and bequeath to Elizabeth the daughter of my son Arthur COSTER deceased the sum of fifty pounds to be paid to her at her age of one and twenty years and in case she dye before she attains to her said age of twenty one years then I will that the same be paid to her brother Arthur and sister Anne COSTER and divided equally between them at their respective ages of one and twenty years or in case one of them be dead then the whole to the survivor and in case they shall both dye before they attain the said age of one and twenty years

then my will is that the same be equally divided and paid one half to the eldest child of my son John and the other half to the eldest child of my son James COSTER Item I give her one dozen flaxen napkins wrote with white striped work Item I give her my wearing apparel both linen and woollen Item I give her one pair of flaxen sheets

Item I give and bequeath to my grandson Arthur COSTER son of Arthur COSTER aforesaid the sum of fifty pounds to be paid him at his age of one and twenty years and in case he happen to dye before he attains to the said age of one and twenty years then I will that the same be paid to his two sisters Anne and Elizabeth aforesaid and equally divided between them at their respective ages of one and twenty years and in case one of them be dead then the whole to the survivor and in case both of them be dead before they attained their ages of one and twenty years then my will is that the same be equally divided and paid one half to the eldest son of my son John and the other half to the eldest son of my son James COSTER

Item I give and bequeath to my son James COSTER the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds Item I give him a feather bed and bolster now being at the home of my son John COSTER in Bristol Item I give him one suite of red serge curtains and one yellow ring Item I give him one dozen flaxen napkins striped with bleu Item I give him one pair of sheets marked with J.D.

Item I give and bequeath to my son John COSTER the mansion house where I formerly lived situate in Whitecleeve aforesaid together with barn stables outhouses yard gardens and backsides adjoining and appertaining Item I give unto him one piece of land called Jennings land or Jennings Meade with a grove or coppice thereto adjoining Item I give unto him one piece of land called the old orchard and one other called the new orchard with a platt of ground adjoining to them both and to the mansion aforesaid called the Poole Platt Item I give unto him one part of ground called the great Garden Item I give unto him one piece of land called the Hill with a grove lying between that and the new orchard aforesaid and adjoining to them both Item I give him one piece of land called Little Greenway all which are situate and being in the Parish of Newland and County of Gloucester aforesaid to have and to hold all and singular the lands houses barn stables yard gardens orchards and backsides aforesaid with the appurtenances unto my said son John COSTER his heirs and assigns for ever together with all writings and evidences concerning the same

AND as for my personal estate whether the same be in goods ready money leases mortgages debts upon specialty or otherwise or of what nature or kind soever the same be or may be found after my said legacies be paid and my funeral expenses and debts be discharged I give and bequeath the same to my said son John COSTER

and I do nominate and appoint my said son John COSTER to be sole executor of this my last will and testament and I do appoint my well be loved friends Francis HALL Esq. and Mr. George BONE gent to be overseers of this my last will and testament and for their care and pains therein doe give them five shillings a piece and my will is that my said executor doe at or before the proving of this my will give bond to my said overseers for the performance thereof IN witness whereof I have here unto sett my hand and seale the day and year first above written Anne COSTER sealed and delivered by the above named Anne COSTER and published and declared to be her last will and testament in the presence of John PALMAR, John DEW, Richrd PALMAR
