Will of Samuel LONG (abt 1778-1833)

In the Name of God Amen
This being the last Will and Testament of the undersigned Samuel LONG of Oldland Common in the parish of Bitton in the County of Gloucestershire Yeoman being of sound mind do will and bequeath the whole of my worldly effects lands chattels and other things in manner and form following.
That is to say to Ann LONG my present wife the sum of twenty pounds of the current coin of Great Britain and also the goods she had at time of her marriage with me the said Samuel LONG.
Also to my eldest daughter Elizabeth LONG for her own use and now the wife of William BRYANT the sum of thirty pounds of the currency of Great Britain.
Also to Samuel LONG my eldest son the like sum of thirty pounds of the currency of Great Britain.
Also to my second daughter Esther LONG now the wife of John GERRISH of Oldland Common in the Parish of Bitton in the county of Gloucester aforesaid Butcher or her heirs and assigns. Also to Robert LONG my second son. Also to Ann LONG my third daughter now the wife of John BURROWS and also to Thomas LONG my youngest son the whole of my effects which the aforesaid Samuel LONG may be possessed of at my decease to be equally divided between them excepting that the aforesaid Thomas LONG my youngest son shall have the sum of fifty pounds Stirling of the lawful money of Great Britain over and above the rest of the aforesaid division is made and also that the aforesaid Robert LONG my second son shall have my eight day clock and gun.
And I further state that it is my will and intention that the whole of my land chattels and other things aforesaid mentioned shall be sold to the best advantage immediately after my decease and the aforesaid Samuel LONG do thereby appoint Robert LONG my second son aforesaid and Leonard JEFFERIES of Wick and Abson in the county of Gloucester aforesaid carpenter to be my executors and further charge them to see these my will and intentions fulfilled and in case of the decease of either of the above named persons Esther GERRISH, Robert LONG, Ann BURROWS, and Thomas LONG of any or either of them before my decease excepting that any of them should have heirs lawfully begotten then in that case the heirs aforesaid shall be entitled to the full share as if the aforesaid named person had been living.
The land above mentioned is situate on North Common on the aforesaid parish of Bitton and County of Gloucester whereon is erected a cottage and garden now in the occupation of William GREEN Coal miner. And I do thereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former Testaments Wills and Bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Eleventh day of July One Thousand eight hundred and thirty three.

Proved at London 14th Nov 1833 before the Judge by Oath of Robert LONG the son one of the Executors to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn only to administer. Power reserved of making the like grant to Leonard JEFFERIES the other executor.
Transcriber's Notes
Samuel LONG died on 27th August 1833 and was buried in St Mary's Churchyard 31st Aug 1833 with his first wife Ann nee BURCHELL who had died 26th Sept 1821.
I have never identified "my present wife Ann" mentioned in the will.
Samuel was the son of Robert & Hester LONG nee PRIGG
