This is the Last Will and Testament of me John NAISH of the hamlet of Bitton in the parish of Bitton in the County of Gloucester Blacksmith
Being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding Thanks be given to almighty God for the same, my will and [.] is that I may be buried in such manner as my dear sisters Sarah LEWIS and Mary HANNY shall think proper.
ffirst I give and bequeath after my decease unto John BUSH son of Samuel and Rachel BUSH all my said house and Garden I now live in together with all my working tools of every sort also my [ . ] Oak table settee? Baron with my Bed and Bedstead and Bed Clothes [ . ] belonging in the outward Room also my ff[ . ] from? [black blot] and all my Braving? Utensils But my will is in [black blot] said John BUSH should happen to die without [black blot] then my will is that I give and bequeath the same of his to and dying? [ . ] William LEWIS and Rachel LEWIS son and daughter of Isaac and Sarah LEWIS equally between them share and share alike but my will is in[ . ] my said [ . ] John BUSH should leave a wife in that case she shall enjoy the same during her natural life by no longer
I give and bequeath after my decease unto my niece Sarah LEWIS all the remaining part of my goods and plate I give and bequeath after my decease unto John Naish LEWIS all my wearing apparel both Linen and woolen
I give and bequeath after my decease unto Sarah LEWIS widow of the late Isaac LEWIS all that Ground lying between Upton and Beach called Bartons During her natural life and after her decease then I give the same to her daughter Sarah LEWIS but in case my said niece Sarah LEWIS should happen to die without lawful ifsue then I give the same unto her younger Brother or a Sister as shall be then living
I likewise give and bequeath in six months after my decease unto my eight nephews and nieces viz Robert LEWIS, John Naish LEWIS, Isaac LEWIS, George LEWIS, William LEWIS, Thomas LEWIS, Sarah LEWIS and Rachel LEWIS Sons and Daughters of Isaac LEWIS by Sarah his wife the Sum of Ten pounds each
also I give and bequeath in six months after my decease unto my niece Mary HANNY Daughter of George and Mary HANNY Ten pounds
also I give and bequeath in Six monthes after my decease unto Mary BARTLET widow of the late William BARTLET Ten pounds
all the rest of my goods and chattels I give and bequeath the same unto my sister Sarah LEWIS and my Sister Mary HANNY Share and share alike whom I make constitute and appoint sole Executors of this my last will and testament and I do hereby nominate and appoint George HANNY Of Pensford in the County of Somerset and John [ . ] of Bitton in the County of Gloucester trustees of this my will to set? The same duly executed In witnefs whereof I have as? This Will was proved at London the thirteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety three before the right honourable Sir William Wy[ . ] KNIGHT [ . ] of Laws Master Keeper? Or [black blot] fsary of the Preogative Court of Canterbury lawfully [blot] by the oath of Sarah LEWIS widow the sister of the deceased and one of the Executrixes named in the will to whom administration was granted of all and Singular the Goods Chattles? And [ . ] of the said deceased having been first sworn by Commifsion duly to administer power reserved of making the like Grant to Mary HANNY (wife of George) the Sister of the deceased and the other Executrix whom same shall apply for the same?
