By the permifsion of God I John THOMPSON of Swineford in the parish of Bitton in the County of Gloucester Copper smith, being in a weak stat of body but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding, Do, this twenty first day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight, make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say, First I order and direct that my funeral and testamentary expenses and all such debts as I may owe at the time of my decease shall be paid off and discharged as soon as conveniently may be after my decease by my Executor in trust hereinafter named,
And subject thereto I give and bequeath unto my nephew Thomas Thompson BUSH of the parish of Bitton aforesaid Blacksmith his executors and administrators All my monies and securities for money upon trust to place and keep the same at Interest upon some good and sufficient security or securities and to pay the interest and annual produce thereof unto or permit and sufter the same to be received by my dear wife for and during her life, if she shall so long continue my widow and unmarried, and from and after her decease or marrying again, which shall first happen, Then as to the said monies and securities for money upon trust for all my children equally between them share and share alike and to be paid or assigned to them when and as they respectively shall attain the age of twenty one years And in the meantime to pay and apply the annual interest and produce therof for or towards their respective maintenance education and breeding../. Provided always and I do hereby declare my will to be that it shall and may be lawful to and for my said trustee his executors and administrators, if and when he or they shall think proper, to advance and pay any part or parts of the principal monies to my said wife (during her widowhood) and to and for my children or any of them, for their better support and maintenance, during their respective minorities. And as to all my Household Goods and all the residue of my personal estate not herin before disposed of I give the same to my said wife.
And I do hereby constitute and appoint the said Thomas Thompson BUSH Executor in trust of this my last will and Testament. And I will and declare that my said Trustee his executors or administrators shall not be charged or chargeable with or for any more of the said trust estate than he or they shall actually receive nor for any loss or damage that may happen thereto without his or their willful default And that he or they shall with and out of the said trust estate, pay and reimburse himself and themselves all such costs charges and expenses as he or they shall expend or incur in or about the execution of the trusts of this my will And hereby revoking all former wills by me made I declare this only to be my last. In witness whereof I have to this my last will and Testament contained in two sheets of paper affixed together set my hand and seal the day and year first before written.
