In the name of God Amen I George WILLMOT of the parish of Bitton in the county of Gloucester do this 6th day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy seven make and publish this my last will and testament as followeth that is to say First and principally I recommend my soul to Almighty God hoping to be saved through the merits of our Blessed Saviour Jesus Christ and my body to be decently buried as my executrix hereinafter named shall see fit and convenient

Item I give and devise to my daughter Nancy WILLMOT as soon as she shall arrive to the age of twenty one years and to her heirs for ever all that my dwelling house and garden standing in Oldlands Common in the said parish of Bitton late Samuel BATTMANs now in the possession of Joseph PREWETT but if it should happen that she should died before she should arrive at the age of twenty one years or die without issue then I give the said dwelling house and garden to my two sons Samuel and George WILLMOT and to their heirs for ever

Also I give to my daughter Nancy one hundred pounds as soon as she shall arrive at the age of twenty one years also I give to my daughter Nancy my twenty four hour clock my square oak dressing table my ash oval table and three of my oak chairs and my six ash chairs four of my pewter dishes one dozen of my pewter plates one of my iron pots my best millpuff bed bedstead and everything belonging thereunto one pair of my drawers one of my coffers one barrel one half barrel one quarter barrel four brass candlesticks one tea table two of my spitts her mothers gold ring four silver teaspoons one mahogany handboard and all her mothers apparel as soon as she shall arrive at the age of twenty one years as aforesaid

Also I give to my daughter Nancy WILLMOT three pounds a year for every year until she shall arrive to the age of twenty one years If her mother in law and she should disagree and part all the residue of my lands household goods chattels credits personal estate and effects of what nature or kind soever I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Susannah WILLMOT during the term of her natural life or as long as she shall continue widow

but if my wife should intermarry or cohabit with any man or do anything as may be likely to harm the children then I give the said lands effects household good chattels credits personal estate of what nature or kind soever as aforesaid unto my two sons Samuel and George WILLMOT share and share alike and to their heirs for ever but if either of them should die without issue then I give half the share of him so doing to my daughter Nancy WILLMOT and to her heirs for ever and the other half to the survivor and his heirs for ever

and I do order my executrix hereinafter mentioned to keep all the houses which she shall enjoy during the term of her natural life in proper tenantable repair and further I do appoint my brother Isaac WILLMOT and my neighbour Mark TANNER to be trustees of this my will to see it performed as near as they can in every degree and I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made Declare this to be my last will and my wife Susannah WILLMOT sole executrix thereof In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written
