1903 WILL OF JAMES WILMOT OF BRISTOL

This is the last will and testament of me James WILMOT of 31 Belmont Road, St. Andrews Park in the City and County of Bristol. Accountant at Muller's Orphanage.

1. I appoint my son James Walter WILMOT and my daughter Sarah Elizabeth WILMOT (herein after called my trustees) to be the executors and trustees of this my will for all the purposes herein expressed and for the purposes of the Settled Land Acts.

2. I give devise and bequeath all my real chattels real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my trustees upon trust to pay to my dear wife Eliza Blake WILMOT the sum of £25 for her immediate use and to permit her to have the use and enjoyment of all my furniture plate linen china glass books pictures prints and other household effects for and during her life and to pay to or permit her to receive the rents and income of all my real and chattel real estate and of the residue of my personal estate after the payment thereout of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses for and during her life.

3. Upon the decease of my said wife I bequeath my furniture plate linen china glass books pictures prints and other household effects unto my said son James Walter WILMOT and my said daughter Sarah Elizabeth WILMOT in equal shares absolutely.

4. And upon the decease of my said wife I direct my trustees to sell call in and convert into money the whole of my real and chattel real estate and the residue of my personal estate and after payment of all expenses attending the same to hold the net proceeds upon trust to pay and divide the same equally between my three children Charles Herbert WILMOT the said James Walter WILMOT and the said same Sarah Elizabeth WILMOT.

5. Provided always that if either of my said three children shall die in my lifetime leaving a child or children who shall survive me and attain the age of twenty one years then and in every such case the last mentioned child or children shall take (and if more than one equally between them) the share which his or her or their parent would have taken of and in my estate if such parent had survived me.

6. I revoke all former wills and testamentary dispositions made by me and declare this to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have set my hand to this my will the first day of August one thousand nine hundred and three.

Signed by the above named James WILMOT as his last will in the presence of us both being present at the same time and in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses

On the 28th day of November 1903 probate of this will was granted at Bristol to James Walter WILMOT and Sarah Elizabeth WILMOT the executors

James Walter WILMOT
born 16.10.1862 married Rachel Eliza WEDMORE born 1872 on 6.11.1907. She later married Jack LOCK at Chippenham and died 8.9.1966.
